How To Effectively Remove Makeup Using Coconut Oil [VIDEO]

Every woman who wears makeup knows this: REMOVING MAKEUP CAN BE SUCH A PAIN!

Yes, it's really fun to layer on makeup and play around with different kinds of makeup looks, but at the end of the day, nobody's really looking forward to removing all that hard work! Let's be honest here, removing makeup can be such a chore but we all know that doing this is important to our skin's health.

It's never good to sleep in your makeup so I've researched the best makeup removers in the market. I tried them all and they all ended up hurting or stinging my face, especially in my eye area. No matter how gentle makeup removers claim to be, they will for some reason, still make my skin feel very thin(?) and fragile and just painful! I really hated that so I thought it was time for me to switch to something that will not make me dread my night time skincare routine. Also, wouldn't it be nice to spend your money on something that actually works?! Well, nature's gotchu boo!

Using Coconut oil as my makeup remover made my night time routine a lot faster. My skin also felt cleaner and I ALMOST never found leftover makeup on my cotton pad when I use my toner which is second to the last step in my skincare routine. It's really good in breaking down even the most stubborn makeup, t's organic, it's cheaper and a little bit goes a long way! My method of removing makeup really works for me and I thought I'd share it with you!

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:

  1. Coconut Oil
  2. 2 Cotton Pads
  3. Warm water

WHAT TO DO:

  1. Warm up coconut oil in hands.
  2. Spread directly on your beautiful made up (DRY) face then start massaging. Avoid the eye area first. You don't want spreading eye gunk all around your face. This takes me about one minute.
  3. Proceed to the eye area. Add more oil if needed then gently massage your eyes and lashes. I do this for like a whole minute.
  4. IMPORTANT: To avoid turning your sink into a black greasy mess, do not wet your hands or your face YET. With your still oily hands, get some hand soap and get it on all the oily areas of your hands. Then rinse off with warm water. Doing this will make the oil go directly in the drain and will not stick all over your sink.
  5. Wet the first cotton pad with warm water, squeeze excess water out and gently wipe away as much makeup as you can off your face. I am usually able to get most of my makeup off with the first cotton pad.
  6. Do the exact same thing with the second cotton pad. I only do this step so I am sure that I am able to get the makeup products off my face. It's like the second banlaw when you're doing laundry and you don't have an automatic washing machine HAHA.
  7. Then rinse off face with warm water. If you don't like the oily feeling, you can go ahead and proceed with your normal skincare routine. SEE ALSO: My Skincare Routine
