Listen With Corinth: Wait - M83
Finally, The Fault in Our Stars movie came out two days ago here in Whitehorse after a week or two of waiting! I read the book a long time ago so when I learned that they were making a movie based on the book, I knew I just had to watch it.
jssuarez22 and I agreed to watch the movie “together” despite the 3.5k mile distance between us. We really are so cute like that. I went to see the 6:45PM show, he went to their 10:15PM show (close enough right?). I sent him my copy of the book last year because I loved the book so much that I had to share it to him! You know that feeling about something great that you can’t help but share it? The Fault in Our Stars was like that for me so I sent him my book in hopes that he’d love it too and guess what, HE DID! So last night, we both watched the movie almost at the exact same time; our first real long-distance movie date.
I won’t spoil you the details of the movie, but all I can say is that the movie was as amazing as the book. I love how they materialized the book visually and everything about the movie was entertaining and fresh. The director did a great job on that and I wish other directors would be more like him! (I hate how The Hunger Games movie turned out ugh) New girl crush: Shailene Woodley! I love her! The casting on this movie was so perfect too! I love how they brought life to the characters of the book and how believable they were. Their acting was just so real and very honest. I LOVED that so much!
Then there’s the soundtrack and boy was it amazing. This particular song intrigued me because when I heard it in the movie, I immediately recognized the voice and I automatically played this video in my memory. Jorge used the same band in his slow motion video of me and today I downloaded the soundtrack and I fell in love with Wait.
With all of that said, be sure to watch the movie and read the book. Not necessarily in that order but please, do yourself a favor and do both! John Green is a book genius and it would be a mistake to NOT encounter any of his works.
Send your dreams
Where nobody hides
Give your tears
To the tide
There’s no end
There is no goodbye
With the night
