CURRENT MAKEUP FAVES
If you're still following my blog, I'm sure you've noticed that I completely stopped doing my monthly favorites posts. I decided to stop the blog series because I don't really try out new products often anymore, and I realized that I was almost forcing myself to use a bunch of products just to include something new in the posts ⎯ A BIG NO NO, especially for someone who's a creature of habit.
With all of that said, I thought that I would just update you guys every once in a while on my current makeup and skincare favorites, that way I stay true to myself and to you guys. Sounds good? Alrighty!
Today, I will be sharing with you my current makeup favorites, aka, my go-to products every time I do my makeup, whenever I do my makeup.
Maybelline Total Temptation Brow Definer - This brow definer is so good for how much it is. I love the color of the packaging, it has a spooly which is always appreciated in a brow pencil, and the product itself has a really nice, firm, yet blendable formula. The pencil is shaped like a little triangle, and although there's no way to keep the shape sharp and precise, it's able to create nice hairlike strokes. It's so easy to use, and I always love how my brows look when I use this product. The shade I use is Medium Brown and I find that it's the perfect color for me.
ColourPop Dream St. Eyeshadow Palette - Whenever I decide to do eyeshadow, this is the palette I reach for. It just has everything I could ever need for any look, and I love the formula of these pressed powder shadows from ColourPop. These shadows can have quite a lot of kick-up, but it blends so beautifully on the lids which is what's important when it comes to eyeshadows. A little goes a long way with these shades because they are all so amazingly pigmented. KathleenLights did such an amazing job with this palette.
NYX Epic Ink Liner - I never liked brush tip liquid eyeliners because I personally found it more difficult to use, but this one just made me change my mind about them. Eyeliner application has never been so easy with this NYX Epic Ink Liner! The brush is soft and firm at the same time, making it so easy to create a crisp wing, and it's 100% opaque that you don't have to go back to make the liner darker. It's waterproof but is pretty easy to remove with my makeup oil. Also, this eyeliner doesn't dry down shiny. It's not matte, but it's not shiny. I can't explain it haha. I HATE shiny eyeliners!
Lancome Monsieur Big Mascara - I still love my Maybelline Big Shot, but man, this Lancome mascara is soooo good that I might become a high-end mascara user again! I'm not sure if you know how I use mascara, but I layer this product on like it's nobody's business. It's how I achieve my super huge and almost false-looking lashes, and it usually takes me 3-5 minutes to do each eye. With the formula of this mascara though, I don't have to do my lashes for that long because the mascara just does the work for me. This gives my lashes crazy volume and curl. It can look a little clumpy if you use too much, but it's nothing a spooly comb-through can't fix.
BareMinerals BarePRO Performance Wear Liquid Foundation (Shade: Sandstone 16) - BareMinerals sent me this foundation, and I fell in love the first time I used it! If you want a really full coverage foundation that doesn't look or feel heavy on the skin, and gives off a nice healthy matte look, this foundation is for you. It claims to be a 24-hour wear foundation, and though I haven't tested it for that long, I know that this foundation will still look good even after 12 hours on the skin.
Maybelline FIT Me Loose Finishing Powder (Shade: Medium 25) - I don't know about you, but whenever I come across new drugstore makeup, I always am a little skeptic. When this powder came out, I looked at it like, "this is probably going to suck", but man I've never been so wrong in my life! This is by far the best loose powder I've ever tried from the drugstore. It's so finely milled, and is great for setting the under eyes and for all over the face. It doesn't look cakey, and I always always get compliments on my skin when I use this in conjunction with my BareMinerals foundation. This powder makes me look so freaking smooth and flawless and it's crazy how affordable it is!
IT Cosmetics Confidence in Your Glow (Shade: Nude Glow) - This cheek palette is the best travelling companion because it has a blush, a bronzer, and a highlight all in one packaging. But that's not why it's my favorite. If I want to look absolutely healthy and glowing, this is the palette I use. The blush is the perfect flush for my cheeks, and I love how it leaves my cheeks with a little sheen for that beautiful subtle glow. The bronzer in this Nude Glow palette is a great shade for my skin tone, I even use it to contour my nose! I highly recommend this product!
Milani Color Statement Lipliner (Shade: SPICE) - This lipliner is a long time favorite of mine. When in doubt, this is what I use for my lips. It's such a beautiful nude color for my skin tone! It's super long-wearing, very comfortable on the lips, and it pairs so well with lighter lipsticks. This is a product I will keep repurchasing!
Bobbi Brown Crushed Lip Color (Shade: Angel) - This past year, I have stopped using liquid lipsticks and started using more moisturizing formulas, aka, the OG lipstick in a bullet! This lipstick is as creamy as a balm, but full of pigment like a lipstick. It feels so comfortable on my lips, and it lasts fairly long on my lips even after meals. My favorite everyday shade is called Angel which is such a flattering pink on my light-medium complexion. To make it last even longer, I use it on top of my Milani Spice lipliner.
Those are all my current makeup favorites. Have you tried any of these products? Do you like them too? What are some of your current faves? Let me know in the comment box below!
Also, I just purchased a few NEW ColourPop products! Remember when all I talked about was ColourPop?! HAHA. I'm still testing the new makeupssss that I got, and I will definitely update the blog with a review. :)
